I am excited to announce the release of my new book, “Lyme Disease in Australia: Fundamentals of an Emerging Epidemic”. Having worked with Lyme patients in Australia for a few years now, I realized that there is a tremendous need for information, both for patients and physicians alike. This book is the culmination of months of research into the history and evidence of Lyme disease in Australia; and a compilation of information based on my years in clinical practice with Lyme disease in the United States.

Lyme disease does in fact exist in Australia. There are studies dating back as far as 1959 that demonstrate the existence of Borrelia, the bacteria that cause Lyme disease, in Australia. Case reports have been published in the Medical Journal of Australia dating back to the early 1980’s describing cases of Lyme disease. More recently, a study demonstrated that patients who have never left Australia have tested positive for Lyme disease, and heartbreaking stories are emerging of children of mothers with Lyme who are testing positive for the illness themselves.

Yet despite compelling and irrefutable evidence to the contrary, the Australian health authorities still deny the existence of Lyme disease in Australia, resulting in hundreds, if not thousands, of people not being able to get the help they need and deserve.

I have helped to oversee the care of well over 400 Australian Lyme disease sufferers, and hold clinics in Australia for Lyme disease patients. The stories of some of my Australian patients are included in my book, as well as extensive guidelines for diagnosing and treating Lyme disease. The book also exposes some of the research showing that Lyme disease might have existed in Australia for many years – studies and case reports presented in credible journals such as the Medical Journal of Australia, that have been blatantly disregarded by the health authorities.

The book contains a wealth of detailed information – ranging from signs and symptoms of Lyme disease and co-infections; how to test for Lyme disease to get the most accurate results; treatment options both pharmaceutical and natural, including detailed protocols; to coping with the illness and educating doctors on Lyme disease.

This is a resource that people can go back to time and time again for new treatment ideas, share with family and friends who may not understand their illness, and pass on to open-minded doctors who want to support their treatment but are lacking in knowledge and training in this area.

The book is available in both eBook and paperback format. For more information and to order the book please visit www.LymeDownUnder.com
