Dr. Stephanie Poiani is a board-certified Naturopathic Doctor. She is passionate about helping her patients navigate and heal from complex, chronic illness. Her clinical interests include chronic infections such as Lyme Disease, mold toxicity, environmental medicine, autoimmunity, gastrointestinal conditions, mind-body medicine and mental health.
Dr. Stephanie was introduced to a holistic lifestyle as a young child. She was raised eating organic food and using non-toxic home products which ingrained an understanding of environmental impact on health from an early age. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences with double minors in Biochemistry and Psychology at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Stephanie always felt called to become a doctor, but she knew there was so much more to healing than only using tools the allopathic model offered. She decided to pursue naturopathic medical school because it combined the best of evidence-based science with both conventional and natural treatment options. Dr. Stephanie graduated with her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University California. She has completed advanced training in mind-body medicine, biofeedback, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, neural prolotherapy, and botanical medicine, and frequently incorporates these modalities into her treatment approach.
During her time as a student, Dr. Stephanie began to experience strange and debilitating health complaints. She spent years seeing a wide range of practitioners without any improvement or answers. Eventually, an integrative medical doctor discovered the root cause of her symptoms were related to multiple chronic infections. It took years of both conventional and natural treatment to begin feeling like herself again. Having been through the long healing journey as a patient, Dr. Stephanie truly understands the challenges that come along with diagnosing, treating, and navigating chronic illness.
In her free time, you can find Dr. Stephanie at the beach, cooking, creating new recipes, teaching and taking yoga classes, and spending time with her partner, Jacob and their beloved dachshund, Lola.
