Pulsed Electromagnetic Frequency Therapy

Accelerated tissue repair and regeneration? Reduced inflammation? Dramatic reduction in pain?

If these things sound appealing to you, you will be interested in the Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy, now offered at RestorMedicine.

An Introduction to PEMF

Pulsed Electromagnetic Frequency TherapyI was first introduced to PEMF through one of the top integrative medicine physicians in the country, Gary Gordon, MD, who utilizes it in his practice. I researched further and it sounded almost too good to be true, so I wanted to try it out. I met with a representative from the company for a demo.

My ongoing issue is Achilles tendonitis, and despite copious amounts of physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, podiatric therapy, surgery etc etc (yes I’ve done it all) – I just couldn’t get on top of it. Of course I’m also stubborn and don’t like to go without running, so that doesn’t help!

I had one session of PEMF, and the next morning, I woke up with no stiffness (which would be typical), was able to walk completely normally, and had no pain. No pain. Just to test it out (I said I was stubborn), I went and ran five miles. No pain. Incredible!! I could feel my Achilles, but it was definitely more awareness than pain. I rated it a 2/10 where normally for me I would be at a 7/10-8/10 after a run. I was pretty blown away.

So I tested it on more guinea pigs (a.k.a. friends) and lo and behold, it lived up to my hopes; I have found it to be truly incredible. There was no question whether I wanted to bring it into our practice and offer it to our patients.

Some Things PEMF Can Help With

• Repair damaged and diseased tissue
• Repair torn tendons and fractured bones
• Increase cellular level of oxygen absorption up to 200%
• Enhance protein synthesis in the cells
• Improve circulation
• Reduce pain, swelling and inflammation
• Cause a more alkaline pH
• Induce healthy electrical conduction around cells allowing great passage of nutrients in/ toxins out
• Work as a catalyst to increases bone density and muscle mass
• Promote the detoxification process
• Support neurological regeneration

How PEMF Is Used

PEMF is used extensively with athletes for enhanced recovery and performance, and to treat sports-related injuries, but it also has great application in chronic illness, especially in pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia and chronic Lyme disease. It can be used as a whole body treatment or on localized areas (including for headaches/ migraines). Often we will do a whole body treatment first, to charge up and energize every cell, then work on specific areas of pain. Ten sessions are recommended for lasting healing, but often people notice improvement within just one or two. I am still pain-free, for the first time in years.

I am so excited to be able to offer this to my patients, as chronic pain and chronic fatigue are two things I see so often and want to be able to help. And as an athlete, I have experienced first hand its Power to Repair & Rebuild!! It’s also quite affordable at $45 per session or $300 for a series of 10. Treatments take no more than 20 minutes, and have no adverse effects. Call us today to book your first session and experience it for yourself. This is truly the future of pain relief!!

  1. Your personal story at the beginning of the article is inspiring. I’m glad you were able to run five miles, even if it was stubbornly, with little pain afterwards. It is incredible how far medicine has come over the past few decades. To have new treatments that use electromagnetic frequencies to help reduce inflammation is astonishing. I’m curious to see what other ailments PEMF is translated to over the next decade.
